لَوْلا ٱلْمُسَاعَدَة ٱلْإِيْرَانِيَة وَٱلْمُسَاعَدَة ٱلسُّورِيَة... لِنَقُل صَرَاحَةً... لَمْ يَكُن بِٱلْإِمْكَان تَحْرِير ٱلْجَنُوب مِن ٱلْاِحْتِلال ٱلْإِسْرَائِيلِيّ، هٰذَا ٱلْأَمْر بَدَأَ مَعَ حَرَكَةِ أَمَل وَٱنْتَهَى مَعَ حِزْب ٱلله، هٰذِهِ ٱلْمُقَاوَمَة لَمْ تَكُن مَدْعُومَةً بِٱلْأَسَاس مِن ٱلشَّعْب ٱللُّبْنَانِي وَصَلَتْ إِلَى هٰذَا ٱلدَّعْم مِن كُلّ ٱلشَّعْب ٱللُّبْنَانِي فِي مَرْحَلَةٍ مُتَأَخِّرَة وَلٰكِن فِي ٱلْبِدَايَات لَمْ يَكُن أَحَد يُصَدِّق أَنَّهُ بِإِمْكَان حَفْنَةٍ قَلِيلَةٍ مِن ٱلنَّاس ٱلْمُؤْمِنِين بِوَطَنِهِم وَبِدِينِهِم وَبِرَبِّهِم وَبِبِلادِهِم وَبِأَرْضِهِم أَنْ يَطْرُدُوا أَكْبَر قُوَّةٍ عَسْكَرِيَةٍ مِن مُعْظَم أَرْضِهِم.
Were it not for Iranian support and Syrian support... lets be frank... it wouldnt have been possible to liberate the South from Israeli occupation this matter started with Amal and finished with Hizbullah this resistance was not supported at first by the Lebanese people they [the resistance] only got the support of all the Lebanese people at a late stage but in the early stages no-one believed that it would be possible for a small handful of people - believers in their nation in their faith in their Lord in their country and in their land to expel the largest military force from the majority of their land.
وَافَقَ ٱلْمُدِير ٱلْفَنِّي لِمُنْتَخَب مِصْر لِكُرَةِ ٱلْقَدَم حَسَن شَحَاتَة عَلَى قُبُول اِعْتِذَار ٱللّاعِب أَحْمَد حُسَام (مِيدُو) أَمَامَ زُمَلائِهِ فِي مُعَسْكَر ٱلْمُنْتَخَب، قَبْلَ سَاعَات مِن ٱلْمُبَارَاة ٱلنِّهَائِيَة، وَقَدَّمَ مِيدُو ٱلْاِعْتِذَار عَلَنًا لِلْجَمَاهِير وَٱلْمُدَرِّب عَبْرَ شَاشَات ٱلتِّلِفِزْيُون فِي أَكْثَر مِن بَرْنَامَجٍ خِلال ٱلْيَوْمَيْن ٱلتَّالِيَيْن، لِلْخَطَأ اَلَّذِي اِرْتِكَبَهُ فِي مُبَارَاة ٱلسِّنْغَال، وَٱعْتَرَض مِيدُو بِشِدَّة عَلَى قَرَار ٱلْمُدَرِّب بِتَغْيِيرِهِ. ٱلْمُؤْسِف أَنَّ مِيدُو أَدْلَى بِحَدِيث لِصَحِيفَةِ «دَيْلِي مَيْل» اَلْاِنْكلِيزِيَة وَنُشِرَ عَلَى صَفْحَةٍ كَامِلَة أَوَّل مِن أَمْس تَحْتَ عُنْوَان «كُلّ ٱلْمِصْرِيِين فِي كُرَةِ ٱلْقَدَم هُوَاة» وَوَصَفَ مِيدُو مُدَرِّبَهُ حَسَن شَحَاتَة بِأَنَّهُ مَحَلِّيٌ مِئَةٌ فِي ٱلْمِئَة، وَأَنَّهُ كَانَ مُدَرِّبًا لِفَرِيقٍ فِي ٱلدَّرَجةِ ٱلثَّانِيَة قَبْلَ تَوَلِّيهِ تَدْرِيب ٱلْمُنْتَخَب.
Hassan Shehata the coach [lit. technical director] of the Egyptian [national] football team agreed to accept the apology of the player Ahmed Hossam (Mido) in front of his colleagues at the team camp a few hours before the final match. Mido gave the apology publicly to the supporters/fans and the coach across the TV screens on more than one programme over the following two days for the mistake which he committed in the Senegal match when Mido objected strongly to the trainers decision to replace/substitute him. The unfortunate thing is that Mido gave an interview to the English newspaper The Daily Mail which was published over a full page the day before yesterday under the headline All Egyptians in football are amateurs. And Mido descibed his coach Hassan Shehata as one hundred percent local and [said] that he was a trainer in the second division before his taking over the training of the team.
هَلْ كَانَ قَلِقًا عَلَى حَيَاتِهِ فِي أَيَّامِهِ ٱلْأَخِيرَة؟ أَجَابَتْ: «كَانَ رَفِيق يُحَاوِل أَنْ يُخْفِي عَنِّي ٱلْأَخْطَار اَلَّتِي يَتَعَرَّضُ لَهَا. كُنْتُ أَعْرِف أَنَّ أَصْدِقَاءً كَثِيرِين نَصَحُوهُ بِمُغَادَرةِ ٱلْبِلاد بَعْض ٱلْوَقْت، لٰكِنَّهُ رَفَض، وَكَان يُرَدِّد أَنّ أَحَدًا لَنْ يَجْرُؤ عَلَى ٱلتَّعَرُّض إِلَيه بَعْدَ مُحَاوَلَةِ ٱغْتِيَال ٱلْوَزِير مَرْوَان حَمَادَة، خُصُوصًا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُؤَذِّ أَحَدًا فِي حَيَاتِه وَكَانَ يَمُدُّ يَدَهُ لِلْجَمِيع. كَانَ مُؤْمِنًا بِأَنَّ ٱلْمَرْء لا يُصِيبُهُ إِلا مَا كَتَبَ ٱلله لَه».
Was he concerned for his life in his final days? She answered Rafik used to try to hide the dangers that he faced from me. I knew that many friends [had] advised him to leave the country for some time but he refused and used to repeat that no-one would dare oppose him after the attempted assassination of the minister Marwan Hamada especially [since] he [had] never hurt anyone in his life and he used to extend his hand to everyone. He believed that one is never harmed/hit except [by] what God has written for him.
وَأَكَّدَ أَنَّهُ وَمَجْمُوعَةً كَبِيرَةً يَصِلُ عَدَد أَفْرَادِهَا إِلَى مِئَةٍ وَخَمْسِين، كَانُوا يَتَظَاهَرُون فِي شَكْل سِلْمِي أَمَامَ مَبْنَى ٱلْمُحَافَظَة، اِحْتِجَاجًا عَلَى رَفْض ٱلْمَسْؤُولِين دَفْع أُجُورِهِم لِقَاءَ عَمَلِهِم فِي حَمَلات نَظَّمَهَا مَجْلِس ٱلْمُحَافَظَة. وَتَابَعَ: «كُنَّّا نَقِفُ هُنَاك مُنْذُ ٱلصَّبَاح ٱلْبَاكِر، دُونَ أَنْ يَسْتَجِيب أَحَدٌ إِلَى نِدَاءَاتِنَا. وَعِنْدَمَا ٱقْتَرَبَتْ ٱلسَّاعَة مِن ٱلْحَادِيَة عَشْرَة صَبَاحًا تَقْرِيبًا، خَرَجَ إِلَينَا جُنُود بِرِيطَانِيُون كَانُوا فِي بَيْت ٱلْمُحَافِظ، فَتَفَرَّق ٱلشَّبَاب وَسَارَع بَعْضُهُم إِلَى ٱلْاِخْتِبَاء فِي أَبْنِيَةٍ قَرِيبَة. وَلَمَّا ٱبْتَعَدُوا، عَادَ ٱلْجَمِيع إِلَى أَمَاكِنِهِم، فَخَرَجُوا إِلَينَا هٰذِهِ ٱلْمَرَّة مِن ٱلْبَاب ٱلْخَلْفِي لِمَبْنَى ٱلْمُحَافَظَة ٱلْقَرِيب مِن ٱلْمَرْكَز ٱلصِّحِّي».
And he confirmed that he and a big group whose number reached a hundred and fifty were demonstrating in a peaceful manner in front of the governerate/provincial building protesting against the refusal of the authorities to pay their wages for their work on campaigns which the provincial council had organised. And he continued we had been standing there since the early morning without anyone responding to our calls. And when the time approached eleven in the morning approximately [some] British soldiers who were in the governors house came out towards us so the young men split up and some of them ran to hide in [some] nearby buildings. and when they moved away everyone returned to their places so they came out to us this time from the back door of the governorate building near the health centre.
اِعْتَصَمَ نَحْوَ ثَلاث مِئَة مِن أَصْحَاب مَزَارِع ٱلدَّوَاجِن أَمَامَ مُحَافَظَةِ ٱلْقَلْيُوبِيَّة بِمِصْر، اِحْتِجَاجًا عَلَى قَرَار ٱلْحُكُومَة بِحَظْر ٱنْتِقَال ٱلدَّوَاجِن بَيْن ٱلْمُحَافَظَات خِلال ٱلْأُسْبُوعَيْن ٱلْمُقْبِلَيْن، لِمَنْع اِنْتِشَار مَرَض إِنْفلُوَنْزَا ٱلطُّيُور. وَطَالَبَ ٱلْمُتَظَاهِرُون بِتَدَخُّل ٱلْحُكُومَة ٱلسَّرِيع لِحَلّ هٰذِهِ ٱلْأَزْمَة اَلَّتِي أَدَّتْ إِلَى تَوَقُّف بَيْع كَافَّةِ أَنْوَاع ٱلطُّيُور وَمُنْتَجَاتِهَا. جَاءَ ذٰلِكَ بَعْدَ أَنْ شَهِدَتْ بُورْصَة ٱلدَّوَاجِن فِي مُحَافَظَةِ قَلْيُوبِيَّة اِنْهِيَارًا كَامِلًا أَمْس ٱلسَّبْت. فِي ٱلْوَقْت نَفْسِه قَامَتْ ٱلسُّلُطَات ٱلْمِصْرِيَّة بِإِعْدَام نَحْوَ عَشْرَةِ آلاف مِن ٱلطُّيُور فِي ثَلاث مُحَافَظَات. وَكَانَتْ ٱلْحُكُومَة قَد نَصَحَتْ مُرَبِّي ٱلطُّيُور ٱلدَّاجِنَة فِي ٱلْمَنَازِل بِٱلتَّخَلُّص مِنهَا لِمَنْع اِنْتِشَار ٱلْمَرَض.
Around three hundred poultry farm owners staged a sit-in in front of the Qalyubiya district office in Egypt in protest against the governments decision to ban the transportation of poultry between the districts for the next two weeks to prevent the spreading of bird flu. The demonstrators were demanding the rapid intervention of the government to solve this crisis which has led to the stopping of the sale of all types of birds and their products. This came after the poultry market in Qalyubiya district saw a total collapse yesterday Saturday. At the same time the Egyptian authorities carried out the destruction of around ten thousand birds in three districts. And the government has advised breeders of domesticated birds in houses to dispose of them to prevent the spread of the disease.
شَنَّ مَجْلِس ٱلشَّعْب ٱلسُّورِي فِي جَلْسَةٍ خَاصَّة عَقَدَهَا أَمْس هُجُومًا عَنِيفًا عَلَى نَائِب ٱلرَّئِيس ٱلسُّورِي ٱلسَّابِق عَبْد ٱلْحَلِيم خَدَّام، وَدَعَا وَزِير ٱلْعَدْل إِلَى «تَحْرِيك دَعْوَى عَلَى خَدَّام بِتُهْمَةِ ٱلْخِيَانَةِ ٱلْعُظْمَى»، وَذٰلِكَ فِي جَلْسَةٍ لِلْمَجْلِس خُصِّصَتْ لِمُنَاقَشَةِ مَا قَالَهُ خَدَّام فِي مُقَابَلَةٍ مَعَ قَنَاة اَلْعَرَبِيَّةِ ٱلْفَضَائِيَة لَيْل أَوَّل مِن أَمْس، وَجَّهَ فِيهَا اِنْتِقَادَات لاذِعَة إِلَى ٱلنِّظَام ٱلسُّورِي. وَقَد تَوَالَتْ رُدُود ٱلْفِعْل عَلَى مُقَابَلَةِ خَدَّام، فَفِيمَا أَعْرَبَ مُمَثِّلُو ٱلْأَكْثَرِيَّةِ ٱلْبَرَلَمَانِيَّة فِي لُبْنَان عَن اِرْتِيَاحِهِم لِلتَّصْرِيحَات، وَٱعْتَبَرَهَا وَزِير ٱلشَّبَاب فِي حُكُومَةِ فُؤَاد اَلسِّنْيُورَة «مُعَايَدَةً مُهِمَّة لِلُبْنَانِيِين وَلِلْحَقِيقَة»، خُصُوصًا أَنَّهَا شَهَادَةُ «شَاهِد مِن أَهْلِه»، قَالَ وَلِيد جُنْبلاطّ رَئِيس ٱللِّقَاء ٱلدِّيمُقرَاطِيّ إِنّ «خَدَّام اِخْتَارَ ٱلْوَطَن وَتَرَكَ ٱلنِّظَام».
In a special sitting which it held yesterday the Syrian Peoples Chamber launched a fierce attack on the former Syrian vice-president Abdu ~l-Halim Khaddam And called for the Minister of Justice to set in motion proceedings against Khaddam with the charge of high treason. This was in a sitting of the Chamber devoted to discussing what Khaddam had said in an interview with the satellite channel Al-Arabiya in the evening of the day before yesterday during which he directed stinging criticisms towards the Syrian regime. There have been a succession of reactions to Khaddams interview as while the representatives of the parliamentary majority in Lebanon expressed their pleasure at the comments and the Minister of Youth in Fouad Sinioras government considered them to be an important [Eid] greeting to the Lebanese and to the truth especially since they are the testimony of a witness from his [own] people [ref. Quran 12.26] Walid Jumblatt leader of the Democratic Gathering said that Khaddam had chosen the nation and had left the regime.
فِي مَوْكِبٍ مُهِيب شَقَّ شَوَارِع دُبَي ٱلرَّئِيسِيَة، شُيِّع أَمْس جُثْمَان ٱلشَّيْخ مَكْتُوم بِن رَاشِد آل مَكْتُوم حَاكِم دُبَي ٱلسَّابِق اَلَّذِي تُوُفِّيَ صَبَاح ٱلْأَرْبِعَاء فِي اُسْتُرَالِيَا إِثْرَ نَوْبَةٍ قَلْبِيَّةٍ حَادَّة، إِلَى مَثْوَاه. وَشَارَكَتْ فِي مَوْكِب ٱلْجَنَازَة جُمُوعٌ مِن ٱلْمُوَاطِنِين ٱلْإِمَارَاتِيِّين وَٱلْأَجَانِب ٱلْمُقِيمِين فِي ٱلْإِمَارَة، فِيمَا كَانَتْ ٱلشَّوَارِع خَالِيَةً مِن ٱلسَّيَّارَات، وَٱلْمَتَاجِر مُقْفَلَة حُزْنًا عَلَى حَاكِمٍ أَحَبَّهُ ٱلنَّاس لِكَرَمِهِ وَطِيبَتِهِ. وَتَقَدَّمَ ٱلْحُشُود رَئِيس ٱلدَّوْلَة ٱلشَّيْخ خَلِيفَة بِن زَايِد آل نَهْيَان وَحَاكِم إِمَارَةِ دُبَي ٱلْجَدِيد ٱلشَّيْخ مُحَمَّد بِن رَاشِد آل مَكْتُوم وَسْطَ أَجْوَاءٍ مِن ٱلْحُزْن وَٱلْأَسَى حَيْثُ وُورِي جُثْمَان ٱلشَّيْخ مَكْتُوم ٱلثَّرَى فِي مَقْبَرَةِ أُمّ هُرَيْر بِشَعَائِر بَسِيطَةٍ وَفْقَ ٱلْعَادَات ٱلْمَحَلِّيَة.
In a solemn procession which crossed the main streets of Dubai the body of Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid aal Maktoum the former ruler of Dubai who died on Wednesday morning in Australia following a severe heart attack was yesterday escorted to its final resting place. Taking part in the funeral procession were crowds of Emirati citizens and foreigners resident in the Emirate while the streets were empty of cars and businesses were closed in sadness over the ruler who the people loved for his generosity and goodness. Leading the crowds was leader of the state Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed aal Nahyan and the new ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid aal Maktoum Amid an atmosphere of sadness and grief as the body of Sheikh Maktoum was covered with earth in the Umm Hureir cemetery with simple ceremony in accordance with local customs.
أَنْتَ مُسْتَعِدٌّ لِلْجُلُوس وَٱلتَّفَاوُض مَعَ قُوَى ٱلرَّابِع عَشَر مِن آذَار؟ بِٱلتَّأْكِيد.. حَوْلَ إِقَالَةِ رَئِيس ٱلْجُمْهُورِيَّة؟ أَنَا لا أَقُولُ إِقَالَة أَنَا أَقُول اِسْتِقَالَةَ رَئِيس ٱلْجُمْهُورِيَّة.. حَوْلَ اِسْتِقَالَتِهِ أَوْ إِقَالَتِهِ ٱلْمُهِمّ ٱلْخُرُوج مِن ٱلْمَأْزِق؟ نَعَم أَسْتَطِيعُ ٱلْخُرُوج مِن ٱلْمَأْزِق.. مَا هِيَ فِي تَصَوُّرَك ٱلسِّينَارْيُوهَات أَوْ ٱلْأُطْرُوحَات اَلَّتِي يَجِب أَنْ يَدُورُ فِيهَا هٰذَا ٱلْحِوَار؟ وَٱلله إِذَا أَرَادُوا أَنْ يُخْرِج رَئِيس ٱلْجُمْهُورِيَّة مِن بَعَبْدَة فَهُنَاكَ وَسَائِل وَأُسْلُوب لا يُكَلِّفُ شَيْء وَلا لُزُوم لِنُزُول ٱلنَّاس إِلَى ٱلشَّارِع..
Youre ready to sit down and negotiate with the forces of the Fourteenth of March? Of course. About the dismissal of the leader of the republic? I dont say dismissal I say the resignation of the leader of the republic. About his resignation or his dismissal the important thing is to get out of the impasse? Yes I can get out of the impasse. What are in your opinion the scenarios or the theses that this discussion should revolve around? Really [lit. by God] if they want to remove the leader of the republic from Baabda there are ways and means that dont cost anything and there is no need for the descending of the people to the street.
كَشَفَ ٱلرَّئِيس مَحْمُود عَبَّاس (أَبُو مَازِن) أَنَّ لَدَى ٱلسُّلْطَة ٱلْفِلَسْطِينِيَّة «مُؤَشِّرَاتٌ إِلَى وُجُودٍ لـِ «اَلْقَاعِدَة» فِي غَزَّة وَٱلضِّفَة»، مُعَرِّبًا عَن قَلَقِه «لأَنَّهُم إِذَا تَمَكَّنُوا مِن ٱلدُّخُول بِلا رَقِيبٍ أَوْ حَسِيب سَتَكُون ٱلنَّتِيجَة تَخْرِيب كُلّ ٱلْمِنْطَقَة». وَأَضَاف: «إِنَّهَا ٱلْمَرَّةُ ٱلْأُولَى اَلَّتِي أَتَحَدَّثُ فِيهَا عَن هٰذَا ٱلْمَوْضُوع. هٰذَا أَمْرٌ خَطِيرٌ جِدًّا». وَكَانَ عَبَّاس يَتَحَدَّث إِلَى «اَلْحَيَاة» فِي صَنْعَاء اَلَّتِي زَارَهَا فِي سِيَاق جَوْلَتِهِ ٱلْعَرَبِيَّةِ ٱلْحَالِيَة.
President Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen) disclosed that the Palestinian Authority has indications of the existence of al-Qaeda in Gaza and the West Bank expressing his concern because if they can enter without being observed or dealt with the result will be the destruction of the whole region. And he added This is the first time in which I have talked about this subject. This is a very serious matter. Abbas was talking to Al-Hayat in Sanaa which he was visiting in the course of his current Arabian trip.
قَالَ ٱلْمَرْجِع ٱلشِّيعِيّ ٱللُّبْنَانِي، ٱلشَّيْخ مُحَمَّد حُسَيْن فَضْل اَلله لـِ «اَلشَّرْق ٱلأَوْسَط» أَنَّ ٱلشِّيعَة فِي لُبْنَان «لَيْسُوا عُمَلاء لِسُورِيَّة أَوْ إِيرَان لٰكِنَهُم يَلْتَقُون مَعَ ٱلدَّوْلَتَيْن فِي ٱلْمَوْقِف ٱلسِّيَاسِيّ». مُشَدِّدًا عَلَى أَنَّهُم يَرْفِضُون أَنْ تَحْكُمُهُم سُورِيَّة أَوْ إِيرَان. وَفِي حَدِيثٍ تَمَحْوَرَ حَوْلَ ٱلْوَضْع ٱلشِّيعِيّ فِي لُبْنَان وَٱلْعِرَاق، أَكَّد فَضْل اَلله أَنَّهُ غَيْرُ خَائِفٍ مِن فِتْنَةٍ سُنِّيَّةٍ- شِيعِيَّة فِي لُبْنَان أَوْ ٱلْعِرَاق، مُتَّهِمًا ٱلْاِسْتِخْبَارَات «ٱلدُّوَلِيَّة وَٱلْإِقْلِيمِيَّة» بِٱلْعَمَل عَلَى مِلَفّ إِثَارَةِ ٱلْوَضْع ٱلْعِرَاقِيّ.
The Lebanese Shia Marji [=authority] Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Fadl Allah said to Asharq Alawsat that the Shia in Lebanon are not agents for Syria or Iran but they agree with the two states on the political situation emphasising that they [the Shia] refuse to accept that Syria or Iran rule them. And in an interview which revolved around the Shia situation in Lebanon and Iraq Fadl Allah stressed that he was not apprehensive/worried about Sunni - Shia discord in Lebanon or Iraq accusing the international and regional secret services of working on the issue of stirring up the Iraqi situation.
مَسْعُود لَمْ يَكُن مَدْعُومًا مِن أَمِيرَكَا، لأَنَّ دَعْم أَمِيرَكَا كَانَ كُلَّهُ يَأْتِي عَن طَرِيق ٱلْجَيْش ٱلْبَاكِسْتَانِيّ، وَٱلْجَيْش ٱلْبَاكِسْتَانِيّ كَانَ يُعْتَبَر ٱلْعَدُوّ رَقْم وَاحِدٍ لَه فِي أَفْغَانِسْتَان لَيْس ٱلشُّيُوعِيِّين، بَل مَسْعُود، لأَنَّهُ حِينَمَا خَرَجَ مِن بِيشَاوَر خَرَجَ هَارِبًا. أَنَا رَأَيْتُ ٱلسِّلاح ٱلَّذِي عِنْدَ مَسْعُود بِأُمّ عَيْنِّي، مُعْظَم سِلاح مَسْعُود مِن ٱلْجَيْش ٱلرُّوسِيّ، غَنَائِم مِن ٱلدَّبَّابَات وَٱلْطَائِرَات وَٱلْأَسْلِحَة، وَمَا كَانَ يَأْتِي دَعْم لِمَسْعُود إِلا ٱلنَّزْر ٱلْيَسِير. كَانَتْ ٱلْأَوْلَوِيَّة فِي ٱلدَّعْم إِلَى سَيَّاف وَحِكْمَتِيَار وَيُونِس خَالِص مَعَ أَنُّهُم أَقَلّ مِنه جُنْدًا وَعَدَدًا، لٰكِن هٰؤُلاءِ كُلُّهُم بُشْتُون، وَلُهُم عَلاقَات بِٱلْحُكُومَةِ ٱلْبَاكِسْتَانِيَّة.
Masood was not supported by America because Americas support was all coming by way of the Pakistani army and the Pakistani army was considered enemy number one for him in Afghanistan not the communists. But Masood... because when he left Peshawar he left escaping. I saw the arms which were with Masood with my own eyes. Most of Masoods arms were from the Russian army booty of tanks planes and weapons No support came to Masood except a tiny amount. The priority of support was to Sayyaf and Hikmatiar and Yunis Khalis although they were less in soldiers and numbers than him but these were all Pushtun and they had relations with the Pakistani government.
أَصْدَرَ خَمْسَةُ قُضَاة فِي مَجْلِسِ ٱللُّورْدَاتِ ٱلْبِرِيطَانِي حُكْمًا يُؤَيِّد مَدْرَسَة بِرِيطَانِيَة بِفَرْضِ ٱلزِّيّ اَلَّذِي يَرْتَدِيه ٱلطُّلَّابُ وَٱلطَّالِبَات، وَأَلْغُوا حُكْمًا سَابِقًا صَدَرَ لِمَصْلَحَةِ فَتَاةٍ مُسْلِمَة فِي آذَار (مَارِس) ٱلْمَاضِي سَمَحَ لَهَا بِٱرْتِدَاءِ «ٱلْجِلْبَاب» رَغْمَ إِصْرَارِ ٱلْإِدَارَة عَلَى مَنْعِهَا. وَأَعْلَنَتْ مُحَامِيَةُ ٱلْفَتَاة أَنَّهَا قَد تَرْفَعُ ٱلْأَمْر إِلَى ٱلْمَحْكَمَةِ ٱلْأُورُوبِّيَة لِحُقُوقِ ٱلْإِنْسَان «لأَنَّ ٱلْحُكْمَ ٱلْبِرِيطَانِي ٱلْأَخِير مُخَالِف لِحُقُوقِ ٱلْفَتَاة وَمُعْتَقَدَاتِهَا».
Five judges in the British House of Lords have issued a judgement supporting a British school in making compulsory the uniform which male students and female students wear. They annulled a previous judgement issued in favour of a Muslim girl last Adhar (March) which allowed her to wear the jilbab despite the boards insistence on preventing her from doing so. The lawyer for the girl announced that she might take the case to the European Court of Human Rights because the latest British judgement is contrary to the girls rights and beliefs.
تُرَى هَلْ ضَاقَتْ ٱلْمَصَارِف وَسُوق ٱلسَّنَدَات ٱلْعَالَمِيَّة بِعَائِدَات ٱلنَّفْط لِتَجِد طَرِيقَهَا لِلْاِسْتِثْمَار فِي أَنْدِيَةِ كُرَةِ ٱلْقَدَم ٱلْأُورُوبِّيَة؟ ٱلْجَمَاهِيرِيَّة ٱللِّيبِيَّة تَمْتَلِك ثَمَانِي بِٱلْمِئَة مِن أَسْهُم فَرِيق يُوفَنْتُوس ٱلْإِيْطَالِيّ، ٱلْمِلْيُونِير ٱلْمِصْرِيّ مُحَمَّد اَلْفَايِد يَمْتَلِك فَرِيق فُولْهَام ٱلْإِنْجْلِيزِيّ وَٱلْمِلْيَارْدِير ٱلرُّوسِيّ رُوبِينُوفِيتش يَمْتَلِك فَرِيق تشِيلْسِي ٱللَّنْدَنِيّ اَلَّذِي كَانَتْ قُمْصَان فَرِيقِه تَحْمِل اِسْم ٱلْإِمَارَات. فَهَلْ دَافِع ٱلْاِسْتِثْمَار فِي نَوَادِي كُرَةِ ٱلْقَدَم هُوَ ٱلسَّعْي لِلرِّبْح أَمْ لِتَلْمِيع صُورَةِ ٱلْعِبَاد وَٱلْبِلاد؟ وَلِمَاذَا تَحَوَّلَتْ ٱلْمَلَاعِب ٱلْبِرِيطَانِيَة اَلآن حَلْبَة لِلتَّنَافُس بَيْن ٱلْعَرَب وَإِسْرَائِيل لِلتَّرْوِيج لِلسِّيَاحَة فِي ٱلشَّرْق ٱلْأَوْسَط؟
One wonders if banks and the global bond market became dejected with the returns from oil so that they [now] find their way to invest in European football clubs? Libya owns eight percent of the shares of the Italian team Juventus the Egyptian millionaire Mohammed Al Fayed owns the English team Fulham and the Russian billionaire Rubinovich owns the London team Chelsea whose team shirts used to carry the name Emirates. So is the motive for investing in football clubs to try to make a profit or to polish the image of men and country? And why have the British grounds now become an arena for the rivalry between the Arabs and Israel in the promoting of tourism in the Middle East?
ٱلتَّعْبِير «ٱلْإِخْوَة ٱلْأَعْدَاء» هُوَ تَعْبِير قَدِيم. هُنَاكَ فِي ٱلتَّارِيخ قَدِيمًا قَدِيمًا، قَبْلَ ٱلْإِسْلَام، هُنَاكَ قَبِيلَة مِن إِخْوَان إِثْنَيْن، فَأَوْلَادُهُم اِخْتَلَفُوا، فَتَقَاتَلُوا، وَصَار بَيْنُهُم قَتْل. فَبِٱلنِّهَايَة يَعْنِي جَرَتْ ٱلْحَرْب أَرْبَعِين سَنَة. ٱلْأَبْنَاء وَٱلْأَحْفَاد أَصْبَحُوا أَعْدَاء بِكُلّ مَا تَعْنِيهِ ٱلْكَلِمَة. بَيْنَمَا هُم أَصْلُهُم وَاحِد يَعْنِي. وَتُعْرَف بِٱسْم حَرْب ٱلْبَسُوس. كَان سَبَب ٱلْمَعْرَكَة أَظُنّ حَيَوَان مِن هٰذِهِ ٱلْقَبِيلَة إِجْتَاز عَلَى أَرَاض ٱلْقَبِيلَة ٱلْأُخْرَى وَأَكَل مَزْرُوعَاتَهَا. هٰكَذَا بَدَأَتْ. بَسّ لأَنَّهَا كَانَتْ ٱلْقَشَّة اَلَّتِي قَسَمَتْ ظَهْر ٱلْبَعِير. هٰذَا أَيْضًا مَثَل.
The expression brother enemies is an old expression. There was in history a long long time ago before Islam there was a tribe of two brothers their descendants had a quarrel and they fought with each other and there came between them killing. In the end in fact the war ran for forty years. The sons and the grandsons became enemies with all that the word means. But they their origin was the same in fact. And its known by the name of the War of Basus. The reason for the battle was I think an animal from this tribe crossed onto the land of the other tribe and ate their crops. Thats how it started. This was just the straw which broke the camels back. This is also a proverb.
أَعْلَنَ مَسْؤُولُو صِحَّة أَنَّ ٱلْأُرْدُنّ اِكْتَشَفَ ظُهُور أَوَّل حَالَةِ إِصَابَةٍ بَشَرِيَّة بِمَرَض إِنْفلُوَنْزَا ٱلطُّيُور أَمْس لَدَى عَامِلٌ مِصْرِيّ يُعْتَقَدُ أَنَّهُ أُصِيبَ أَثْنَاءَ قَضَاء عُطْلَةٍ فِي بَلَدِهِ بِمِصْر. وَقَالَ سَعِيد دَرْوَزَة وَزِير ٱلصِّحَّةِ ٱلْأُرْدُنِّي إِنَّ ٱلْعَامِل ٱلْبَالِغ مِن ٱلْعُمْر إِحْدَى وَثَلَاثُون عَامًا وَصَل إِلَى ٱلْأُرْدُنّ قَبْلَ يَوْمَيْن «كَانَ يُعَانِي مِن ٱلْمَرَض، أَثْنَاءَ وُجُودِه عَلَى ٱلْبَاخِرَةِ (ٱلْقَادِمَة إِلَى ٱلْأُرْدُنّ)». وَيَعْمَلُ عَبْد ٱلْفَتَّاح أَحْمَد مُسْعَد مُنْذُ أَرْبَع سَنَوَات فِي ٱلْأُرْدُنّ بِقِطَاع ٱلْإِنْشَاءَات، وَقَالَ مُوَاطِنٌ مِصْرِيٌّ آخَر يَقْطُنُ مَعَ مُسْعَد فِي ذَات ٱلسَّكَن، إِنَّ ٱلْأَخِير شَعَرَ بِصُدَاعٍ وَٱرْتِفَاع فِي دَرَجَات ٱلْحَرَارَة وَإِحْمِرَارٍ فِي ٱلْعَيْنَيْن، وَصُعُوبَةٍ فِي ٱلتَّنَفُّس، نُقِل عَلَى أَثَرِهَا فَوْرًا إِلَى ٱلْمُسْتَشْفَى.
Health officials announced that Jordan discovered the appearance of the first case of a human afflicted with bird flu yesterday in an Egyptian worker who is believed to have caught the disease while spending a holiday in his village in Egypt. Saeed Darwazeh the Jordanian Minister of Health said that the worker who is aged thirty one arrived in Jordan two days ago. He was suffering from the illness while he was on the ship (coming to Jordan). Abdul Fattah Ahmad Musad has worked for four years in Jordan in the construction sector. Another Egyptian citizen who lives with Musad in the same place said that the latter felt a headache and a rise in temperature and a reddening of the eyes and difficulty in breathing as a result of which he was taken immediately to hospital.
تَعَرَّفَ ٱلْجُمْهُور ٱلْعَرَبِيّ عَلَى ٱلْأُرْدُنِّيَة رَانِيَا ٱلْكُرْدِيّ وَٱلْتَقَى بِهَا مِن خِلال مُشَارَكَتِهَا فِي تَقْدِيم بَرْنَامَج سُوبَر ستَار عَلَى مَدَى عَامَيْن خِلال جُزْئَيه ٱلْأَوَّل وَٱلثَّانِي، مِمَّا أَكْسَبَهَا شُهْرَةً وَاسِعَة أَهَّلَتْهَا لِلْقِيَام بِبُطُولَةِ فِيلم «ٱلْحَاسَّة ٱلسَّابِعَة» مَعَ ٱلْفَنَّان أَحْمَد اَلْفَيْشَاوِيّ، اَلَّذِي عُرِض فِي ٱلصَّيْفَ ٱلْمَاضِي، لِتَخْتَفِي بَعْدَهَا وَتَبْتَعِد دُونَ أَنْ يَعْرِف أَحَد أَسْرَار هٰذَا ٱلْاِبْتِعَاد. «اَلشَّرْق ٱلأَوْسَط» اِلْتَقَتْ رَانِيَا ٱلْكُرْدِيّ فِي ٱلْقَاهِرَة فَبَدَأَتْ حَدِيثَهَا بِٱلْقَوْل «لَمْ أَبْتَعِد وَلٰكِنَنِّي لا أُحِبّ ٱلتَّسَرُّع فِي تَقْدِيم مَشَارِيع فَنِّيَة غَيْرِ مَدْرُوسَة، وَأَخِيرًا اِنْتَهَيت مِن تَصْوِير فِيدِيُو كلِيب لِإِحْدَى أُغْنِيَات أَلْبُومِّي ٱلْجَدِيد اَلَّذِي سَيَتِمّ طَرْحَه فِي ٱلصَّيْف ٱلْمُقْبِل».
The Arabic public became acquainted with the Jordanian Rania Al Kurdi and met her through her participation in presenting the programme Super Star over a period of two years during its first and second parts which won her widespread fame that enabled her to take on the starring role of the film the seventh sense with the artist Ahmad Al Fayshawi which was shown last summer. But she disappeared after it and withdrew without anyone knowing the secrets of this withdrawal. The American president George Bush confirmed yesterday after his receiving in the White House the Lebanese Prime Minister Fouad Siniora the commitment of his country to support The Cedar Revolution leading to a free and independent Lebanon which enjoys sovereignty. And he said in a statement shortly before his inviting Siniora and the accompanying ministerial delegation to a lunch organised in honour of the visiting delegation that Lebanon provides an example of what the wider Middle East could be like; Peoples of multiple religions who live together in peace and put aside their historical heritage for the sake of achieving peace and getting their opportunity for a better life.
شَهِدَتْ مَدِينَةُ ٱلْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّة أَمْس مُصَادَمَات بَيْنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِين وَٱلْمَسِيحِيِين فِي حَيّ سِيدِي بِشْر أَثْنَاءَ تَشْيِيع جَنَازَةِ نُصْحِي عَطَا ٱلله اَلَّذِي لَقِيَ مَصْرَعهُ أَمْس ٱلْأَوَّل عَلَى أَثَر طَعْنَةٍ تَلَقَّاهَا مِن مُسْلِمٍ قَالَتْ ٱلشُّرْطَةُ إِنَّهُ «مُخْتَلٌّ عَقْلِيًّا». وَفِيمَا بَدَأَتْ ٱلنِّيَابَة ٱلتَّحْقِيق فِي أَحْدَاث ٱلْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّة أَصْدَرَ ٱلْمَجْلِس ٱلْمِلِّيّ وَمَجْمَع ٱلْكَهَنَةِ بِٱلْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّة بَيَانًا غَاضِبًا اِسْتَنْكَرًا فِيه ٱلْاِعْتِدَاءَات عَلَى ٱلْكَنَائِس، وَوَصَف ٱلْبَيَان ٱلتَّصْرِيحَات ٱلرَّسْمِيَّة حَوْلَ ٱلْحَادِث بِأَنَّهَا «تُعَبِّر عَن ٱلْاِسْتِخْفَاف بِعُقُول ٱلْأَقْبَاط وَمَشَاعِرِهِم». وَأَغْلَقَتْ قُوَّات ٱلشُّرْطَة شَارِع خَمْسٌ وَأَرْبَعُون أَحَد أَكْبَر شَوَارِع شَرْق ٱلْإِسْكَنْدَرِيَّة وَطَارَدَتْ ٱلْمُتَظَاهِرِين فِي ٱلشَّوَارِع، فِيمَا فَرَضَ شَبَابٌ مِن ٱلْمَسِيحِيِينِين طَوْقًا أَمَامَ كَنِيسَتِهِم بِنَفْس ٱلشَّارِع تَحَسُّبًا لِمُهَاجَمَتِهَا مِن مُتَطَرِّفِين.
The city of Alexandria yesterday witnessed clashes between Muslims and Christians in the district of Sidi Bishr during the funeral of Nushi Atallah who died the day before yesterday after a stabbing he received from a Muslim who the police said was mentally deranged. And while the public prosecution has started the investigation into the events of Alexandria The Lay Council and The Congregation for the Clergy in Alexandria issued an angry announcement in which they condemned the attacks on the churches. The announcement described the official statements regarding the incident that they illustrate the light value put on Coptic minds and feelings. Police forces closed Road Forty Five one of the largest streets of East Alexandria and followed the demonstrators in the streets while a group of Christians formed a cordon in front of their church in the same street in anticipation of an attack on it by extremists.
رَفَضَتْ «حَرَكَةُ ٱلْمُقَاوَمَةُ ٱلْإِسْلَامِيَّة» (حَمَاس)، اِتِّهَامَات ٱلْأُرْدُنّ لَهَا بِتَخْزِين أَسْلِحَةٍ عَلَى أَرَاضِيه وَٱتَّهَمَتْهُ «بِٱلتَّلْفِيق». وَقَالَ سَامِي أَبُو زُهْرِيّ ٱلنَّاطِق بِٱسْمِهَا «نَرْفُض وَنُدِين ٱلْاِتِّهَامَات بِحَقّ ٱلْحَرَكَة وَنُؤَكِّد أَنّ لا أَسَاس لَهَا». كَمَا قَالَ وَزِير ٱلْخَارِجِيَّةِ ٱلْفِلَسْطِينِيّ مَحْمُود ٱلزَّهَّار، خِلالَ مُؤْتَمَرٍ صَحَفِيّ عَقَدَهُ فِي مَقَرّ مُنَظَّمَةِ ٱلْمُؤْتَمَر ٱلْإِسْلَامِيّ بِجُدَّة أَمْس: «إِنَّ حَمَاس لا تَخْزَنُ ٱلسِّلاح فِي أَيّ دَوْلَةٍ عَرَبِيَّة». إِلَى ذٰلِكَ، شَكَّكَتْ جَمَاعَةُ «ٱلْإِخْوَان ٱلْمُسْلِمِين» ٱلْأُرْدُنِّيَة بـِ«ٱلرِّوَايَةِ ٱلْأَمْنِيَّة» وَٱعْتَبَرَتْهَا تَبْرِيرًا لِإِلْغَاء زِيَارَةِ ٱلزَّهَّار إِلَى عَمَّان اَلَّتِي كَانَتْ مُقَرَّرَةً أَمْس.
The Movement for Islamic Resistance (Hamas) rejected the accusations of Jordan aimed at it [Hamas] concerning the storing of weapons on its [Jordans] land and accused it [Jordan] of fabrication. Sami Abu Zuhri the spokesman for it [Hamas] said We reject and we condemn the accusations regarding the Movement and we confirm that there is no foundation to them. Just as the Palestinian foreign minister Mahmoud Zahhar said during a press conference he held at the headquarters of the Organisation of Islamic Conference in Jeddah yesterday: Hamas does not store arms in any Arabic state. To this the Jordanian Muslim Brotherhood group raised doubts about the security stories and considered them to be a pretext to cancel the visit of Zahhar to Amman which was scheduled for yesterday.
